In 2002, HRH Prince Charles unveiled the Geoneedle located on the cliffs of Orcombe Point. The Geoneedle is made up from some of the oldest rocks in this area and it represents the starting point of the amazing Jurassic Coast. The Devon Jurassic Coast was designated by UNESCO as one of the oldest sites you can visit. This is the main reason why more and more tourists from all over the world travel to this region every year.
Exmouth's main attractions, such as the Triassic rocks or the beautiful beaches, are not the only things you should visit in this region. You can take some exciting cycling trips and there are lots of mountain biking opportunities as well. The Exe Estuary, which you can visit by bike, offers an incredible spot for bird watching and the unspoiled nature is sure to impress you here.
